The Diamondbacks did the job tonight against as inferior an opponent you can face in the Major Leagues. The historically bad Rockies provided a much needed respite tonight after the Snakes finished a 16-game gauntlet of a stretch on Wednesday in San Francisco, and the D-backs did what they needed to do against them.
It all started tonight with Corbin Burnes, who after tonight’s 6 scoreless innings now has a scoreless streak of 16 innings according to the DBacks TV broadcast. He was lighting up the radar gun early in the night, even touching 98 mph in the third, but he was really good dancing around the edge of the zone and not leaving any mistake pitches in the middle of the plate for the Rockies to capitalize off of and potentially start a rally.
