Diamondbacks 14, Reds 11: Dead Red

Cincinnati scored first, but the D-backs blew leads of 4-1 and 8-4. The first came courtesy of a meltdown by Tyler Widener in the sixth, who gave up three runs in fewer than ten pitches. He went 5.1 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk with seven Ks. Arizona retook the lead with a four-run seventh, but the D-backs bullpen couldn’t hold it, as Cincinnatti unleashed the long ball, homering no less than six times. We ended nine level, and like yesterday, the Diamondbacks exploded in the tenth. They scored six, including a bases clearing triple by David Peralta and a two-run HR for Carson Kelly.
