Both teams were mostly quiet for the first inning. The Giants did make a little noise thanks to a two out, Hunter Pence double followed immediately by a Buster Posey walk. Patrick Corbin was able to deny them further, getting Brandon Crawford to fly out to end the inning. The Diamondbacks were even quieter, with Pollock, Peralta, and Goldschmidt all grounding out to the corner infielders.
The second inning didn’t go as well for Corbin. Edwardo Nunez lead things off with a single. Chris Marrero struck out, but Joe Panik walked, bringing Johnny Cueto to the plate.
