Eduardo Escobar’s season has been one of the great mysteries for the Diamondbacks this year. He has fallen off sharply both offensively and defensively, going from one of club’s better players in 2019 to one of its worst this year.
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he has some theories as to what has gone wrong, and he wants to see his third baseman show up to camp next year without carrying the burden of the entire team on his shoulders. He wants to see him use the whole field at the plate and not be so pull-happy. He also wants to see him drop some weight.
