D-backs, hitting coach Magadan part ways

Hitting coach Dave Magadan left the D-backs on Monday. The team, which said Magadan's departure was a mutual decision, said the search for a successor will include assistant hitting coach Tim Laker.

The rest of Arizona's coaching staff will return in 2019, the club said. They are Mike Butcher (pitching coach), Mike Fetters (bullpen), Robby Hammock (quality control and catching), Dave McKay (first base), Jerry Narron (bench), Tony Perezchica (third base) and Luis Urueta (coach).

With the Cubs, Brewers, Dodgers and Rockies all winning on Sunday, the stage is set for a pair of tiebreaker games on today that will determine the National League Central and NL West champs, as well as the NL Wild Card Game matchup.
