SAN DIEGO -- It seems only fitting that the D-backs 2018 season ended with a walk-off loss.
Manuel Margot scored from third with the game-winning run after Francisco Mejia struck out and the ball got away from catcher John Ryan Murphy in the 10th inning.
The D-backs got the out at first on Mejia, but in the process, Margot scored from third as the D-backs fell, 4-3, to the Padres on Sunday afternoon at Petco Park.
Socrates Brito's sacrifice fly in the ninth inning had scored Ketel Marte to give the D-backs a 3-2 lead before Eric Hosmer's RBI single tied it in the bottom of the frame.
