Curt Schilling tweets support for U.S. Capitol rioters: 'A confrontation that matters'

Former MLB pitcher Curt Schilling has never been afraid to speak his mind, even if it could potentially get him in trouble.

He's doing so again in the wake of the rioting at the U.S. Capitol earlier this week.

On Wednesday night, the former Arizona Diamondbacks star tweeted: "You cowards sat on your hands, did nothing while liberal trash looted rioted and burned for air Jordan’s and big screens," Schilling tweeted. "sit back [shut up] and watch folks start a confrontation for [s--t] that matters like rights, democracy and the end of [government] corruption. #itshappening."

Schilling's tweet had been retweeted close to 600 times as of Friday morning, with almost 3,000 likes.
