Cubs win first World Series in 108 years

The Chicago Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in a 10-inning game on Wednesday night to win the World Series, the Cubs' first championship since 1908.

After a 17-minute rain delay with a 6-6 tie, Miguel Montero hit a bases-loaded single in the 10th inning that sealed the game for the Cubs.

It was the 38th time a World Series came down to Game 7.

The Indians now have the longest championship drought in baseball.
