The roof was closed at Chase Field on Friday, but that didn’t stop rain from falling inside the stadium.
Well, not rain, exactly.
Josh Rawitch, the Diamondbacks’ vice president of communications, said a section of the original piping burst over the right-field stands, causing fans to be displaced. Rawitch said water was shut off in the area to stop the leak and that one elevator bank and the Sizzle & Cheese concession stand would be closed for games Saturday and Sunday against the Miami Marlins while repairs are ongoing.
Arizona begins a six-game road trip Monday in San Francisco.
