The Diamondbacks are more than three months removed from the end of their disappointing 2020 season — and some six weeks away from the start of spring training — and yet their roster remains largely unchanged from how it looked in September.
In the meantime, the National League West has grown more intimidating, with the Los Angeles Dodgers winning their first World Series in 32 years and the San Diego Padres adding big-name pitchers to an already talented core.
There is little question the Diamondbacks have holes on their roster — or, at least, that they have areas of the club that could stand to be upgraded.
