The Visalia Rawhide swept the Bakersfield Blaze away, to become the Northern Division champions
High-A Visalia 6 @ Bakersfield 3. The Rawhide came in with a 2-0 lead in the best of five series, having won the previous games, 11-9 and 3-2. But it was the Blaze who struck quickly, Joel Payamps allowing a home-run to the second batter he faced in the bottom of the first. He worked in and out of trouble all night, scattering eight hits and two walks over 4.1 innings, but held Bakersfield to two runs, as they were all but shut down in the clutch, going 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position tonight.
