Arizona Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas hopes spring success translates into regular season

Arizona Diamondbacks fans who checked the box score after Monday's 7-1 spring training loss to the Chicago Cubs might have been a little startled to see that Josh Rojas didn't get a hit.

Rojas went 0 for 2 with a walk, but if he doesn't play Tuesday in the Diamondbacks' spring training finale, he'll have ended spring training with a .343 batting average from 24 hits in 70 at-bats.

Rojas has reached base in 20 of the last 22 spring games. He's bound for a major role at second base and possibly shortstop to start — where he played Monday — if the injured Nick Ahmed is deemed not ready to play when the season opens Thursday.
