Shocking, Arizona Diamondbacks cut former Top-100 Prospect Jon Duplantier
The Arizona Diamondbacks have called it quits on trying to figure out how to get Jon Duplantier to an MLB-Caliber pitcher. He was a top-100 prospect in 2018. He rose rather quickly after being drafted from Rice University in the 3rd round in 2016.
He suffered multiple injuries during his tenure with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He made it to the MLB in 2019 but was shuffled up/down between Triple-AAA and the MLB. The Diamondbacks needed him as a reliever that year before trying to stretch him out as a starter.
