The Diamondbacks announced official start dates for spring training on Tuesday, with pitchers and catchers holding their first workout on Feb. 17 and the first full-squad workout set to be held on Feb. 22.
Unlike in previous years, reporters will not be permitted at the team’s facility until the first full-squad date, a change the league said was “due to health and safety protocols.”
The Diamondbacks have yet to announce the players they are inviting to camp, but the group will include those expected to compete for big league and Triple-A jobs. The major league and Triple-A seasons are scheduled to begin in early April.
