Narrated by Roger Clyne, of D-backs Swing fame, it starts off by proclaiming, “Arizona: It takes a special type of strength to make it here,” then goes through the history of summer in the state. It’s a nice mix of nostalgia and foreshadowing, pointing out that only now, are we just getting to the point where we have adults who don’t remember a time when the D-backs weren’t part of life here. “In my day, we didn’t have the Churro Dog or Legends Race.”
There’s a selection of iconic moments and characters from team history, including Greg Schulte, the flag lady and the bird sent “to the pearly gates” by Randy Johnson.
