Friday night's 2-1 Coyotes loss to the Boston Bruins saw improved defensive play and goaltending compared to the most recent two games, but the Coyotes came away empty despite late heavy pressure to score a tying a goal in the final couple of minutes.
Scott Wedgewood stopped 36 shots and gave the Coyotes a shot at overtime, but the Coyotes couldn't push across a goal before the end of the third period and lost their fourth straight game.
Nick Schmaltz had the only goal for Arizona (10-28-4).
The Bruins scored first when David Pastrnak picked up a loose puck and dished to Erik Haula, who shot quickly and past Wedgewood at 12:31 of the first period.
