The Coyotes closed out their preseason schedule Saturday by blanking the Sharks 4-0 at SAP Center in San Jose to go 2-3-1 in their primer for the regular season.
Center Derek Stepan scored twice, at 16:13 of the first period and then on the power play 6:37 into the second. Wingers Clayton Keller and Max Domi assisted on both goals. Winger Brendan Perlini also scored two goals. He made it 3-0 just 2:58 into the third and then added an empty-netter with 1:06 remaining. Goalie Louis Domingue posted 31 saves for the shutout.
Stepan, Keller and Perlini each had a team-leading three goals in the preseason, while Keller paced the Coyotes in assists (five) and points (eight).
