Three things we learned from the Coyotes' 2-1 OT shootout win over L.A. Kings

The Coyotes played their 10th home game of the season at home Friday night, and have found something of a home ice advantage at Mullett Arena with a 5-3-2 record.

The fifth win at home was the first overtime shootout win at Mullett Arena for the team. Nick Bjugstad scored the only goal among six shooters, three from each team, and Karel Vejmelka stopped two Kings attempts. Nick Schmaltz scored during regulation time, a 5-on-3 power play goal in the first period.

Vejmelka finished with 26 saves, and the Coyotes ended a three-game losing streak to go into the short Christmas break at 11-16-5.
