Stars' three goals in third period send Coyotes to 3rd straight loss

The Coyotes were looking to be competitive in a game again on Monday, after being outscored by nine goals, 12-3, in their previous two games.

That mission was accomplished in another tight game with the Central Division rival Dallas Stars. At least for about 2 ½ periods.

The Coyotes couldn't find much offense in Texas, and fell to the Stars 4-1 for their second loss to Dallas this season.

Shayne Gostisbehere's second-period goal was the only one for the Coyotes, who went into the third period tied with Dallas at 1. Scott Wedgewood was strong once again in goal, with 24 saves, but the Stars scored three goals in the final 11 minutes of the game and sent Arizona to its third straight loss and fifth in the past six games.
