When Nathaniel Brooks earned a spot as one of two coaches invited to the inaugural diverse coaching program last season, Brooks hoped it would lead to a coaching job in the NHL.
As fate would have it, Brooks’ time with the Coyotes wasn’t done. But this time, he returned to the Coyotes in a full-time position as the skill development coach this week.
“I hope I can be an inspiration and I think what Duanté and I did opened up a lot of eyes. Hopefully, the young kids coming up can do whatever they want in the game, whether it’s play, coach, or whatever,” Brooks said.
