Trailing 2-1 late in the second period, the Coyotes rallied to tie the game and add three goals in the third period to end their five-game homestand with a win against former Coyotes goaltender — and current Calgary netminder — Mike Smith and the Flames.
With head coach Rick Tocchet in Toronto to attend his mother’s funeral, Coyotes assistant coach John MacLean assumed head coaching responsibilities on Monday.
