NHL Draft 2017: Arizona Coyotes Select Tyler Steenbergen at 128th overall

With their 128th pick the Arizona Coyotes selected Sylvan Lake, Alberta native Center Tyler Steenbergen.

Having spent the past three seasons in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos, Steenbergen had an explosive offensive season last year with 51 goals and 39 assists in 72 games. In 14 games in the playoffs he finished with 8 goals and 6 assists.

Steenbergen went undrafted last season, but a solid season with the Broncos which saw him tied for lead in goals in the WHL and almost doubling his point production from the previous year. Part of that has been attributed to his linemate Aleksi Heponiemi, drafted 40th overall by the Florida Panthers, but in general his game seems to have improved versus previous years.
