Michael Grabner is the Coyotes’ most valuable forward right now, and it might not even be that close.
Grabner scored his fourth shorthanded goal of the season in Thursday’s 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators on Thursday. And like he has in every game this season, Grabner was a force on the team’s NHL-best penalty kill that staved off six separate Predators’ power plays.
The Coyotes now have 10 shorthanded goals this season, which is tied for the third most through 18 games in NHL history. Grabner has 19 shorthanded goals since 2010, which is behind only Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins with 23.
