The Coyotes have taken a by-committee approach to filling winger Max Domi’s spot on the No. 1 line since Domi went down with a broken hand.
Tobias Rieder has skated in that left-wing slot next to center Martin Hanzal and right winger Radim Vrbata.
So has rookie Brendan Perlini.
And Monday against the Flames, Lawson Crouse earned his first look – a promotion that points to how well Crouse has been adapting to the NHL in his rookie season.
“Having Max out hurts a lot,” Crouse said. “But at the same time, it is a pretty good opportunity for me to kind of show the coaches I can play pretty well.
