Keller scores goal in fourth straight, but Coyotes fall short against Kings

Clayton Keller scored a goal in a career-best fourth straight game and Nick Schmaltz tallied his fifth point in the past four games with an assist on his 26th birthday, but the Coyotes fell 3-2 to the Los Angeles Kings Wednesday night at Gila River Arena.

Loui Eriksson also scored a goal for the Coyotes, his second of the season. Scott Wedgewood, starting in consecutive games for the first time in two months, stopped 32 shots.

The Coyotes (13-34-4) had a late power play and pulled Wedgewood in the final minutes, going for overtime with a 6-on-4, but couldn't draw even before time ran out.
