The Coyotes will be represented on the ice when the World Cup of Hockey commences later this year.
Center Martin Hanzal (Czech Republic) and defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Sweden) were named to initial 16-man rosters Wednesday.
The tournament is organized by the NHL and NHL Players’ Association with the help of the International Ice Hockey Federation and will pit the best NHLers against each other in front of a worldwide audience. Eight teams are in the mix – Canada, Czech Republic, Team Europe, Finland, Team North American, Russia, Sweden and the United States – and they’ll play under NHL rules on an NHL rink at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
