Max Domi seems sincere when he says he loved living and playing hockey in Arizona and that he never wanted to leave. Still, it’s hard to write off what’s happened to him since being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in June.
The Coyotes felt as though they had too many playmakers and not enough finishers, which is what prompted President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka to trade for a scorer.
That person was Alex Galchenyuk, a former 30-goal scorer and a player whom Chayka had tried to acquire in the past. The trade provided fresh scenery for two highly touted forwards whose best years could still be ahead of them.
