Former Coyotes broadcaster Dave Strader passed away Sunday at the age of 62 after battling cancer for more than a year.

Strader called Coyotes games for four seasons, from 2007 to 2011, alongside former Coyotes broadcaster Darren Pang and current color analyst Tyson Nash. He also worked national games while covering the Coyotes before joining NBC full-time in 2011, chronicling the action from the 2014 Winter Olympics, 2012 Summer Olympics, 2009 Winter Classic from Wrigley Field and 2006 Winter Olympics.

During the 2015-16 season, Strader joined the Stars’ broadcast booth. After the season, he was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma – a form of bile duct cancer – and called just five games last season in addition to a handful of playoff games for NBC.
