Ekman-Larsson again avoids big injury

SUNRISE, Fla. – It looked like the Teflon shield that seems to protect Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson might have finally chipped.

As Ekman-Larsson chased the Blues’ Vladimir Tarasenko in last Saturday’s game, trying to whack away the puck with his stick, his right skate bumped up against Tarasenko’s at an awkward angle before the two tumbled to the ice.

The 24-year-old had to be helped toward the Coyotes’ dressing room, his left leg appearing to carry the bulk of his weight.

But once he was examined, Ekman-Larsson wasn’t concerned.

Two days later, he was back on the ice for the Coyotes’ next game.
