He’s no longer shuffling among practices, games and strategy sessions across North America, but Coyotes coach Dave Tippett has remained busy since the season ended.
After the Coyotes adjourned last month, they reshuffled their front-office structure by appointing John Chayka to replace Don Maloney as general manager, naming Tippett the executive vice president of hockey operations and positioning co-owner Gary Drummond as president of hockey operations.
Last week, Arizona finalized the move of its minor-league team to Tucson for the start of the 2016-17 season.
“There’s a lot of pieces of the puzzle we’re trying to put in place,” said Tippett, who signed a new five-year contract when he added a role to his resume.
