For the second time in five days, the Arizona Coyotes bested the Vancouver Canucks. On Sunday, it was a 1-0 victory for the Coyotes behind a 27-save shutout by goaltender Darcy Kuemper.
Filling in for the injured Antti Raanta, Kuemper – who was starting in just his fifth game with the Coyotes since being acquired at the trade deadline – earned his first shutout with Arizona just one day after suffering a loss to the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.
“I like that in a back-to-back he comes in and plays that way,” Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said.
