Coyotes terminate contract of assistant GM Steve Sullivan

This morning in a surprise move the Arizona Coyotes announced that they have terminated the contract of Assistant General Manager Steve Sullivan.

The move was surprising given the timing of it, but also for the briefness of the statement. Arizona's official announcement was only two sentences, reading:

The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the club has terminated the contract of former Assistant General Manager and EVP of Hockey Operations Steve Sullivan.

The Coyotes will not be filling their vacant assistant general manager position this season.

Sullivan first joined the Coyotes as a development coach in 2014 after 1011 regular-season NHL games, including 33 with the then-Phoenix Coyotes.
