The Coyotes have yet to play since slumping deeper in a winless hole following their most lopsided loss of the season Saturday, but the outlook on their start managed to get grimmer.
After Buffalo held off Anaheim Sunday, Arizona became the only team in the NHL that hasn’t won a game and the Coyotes are in sole possession of last place in the league amid a 0-4-1 record – a tough reality they’re aware of but one that hasn’t sapped morale on the brink of visiting the Stars Tuesday in Dallas.
“It’s a rough start, and we’re all a little ashamed of how things have started here,” defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson said.
