The Coyotes had previously been affiliated with the Rush during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. During both of those seasons the Rush did not qualify for the playoffs.
Although most players in the NHL haven’t played in the ECHL, a few players in the Coyotes organization will likely spend some time with the Rush over the next two seasons. A big one is likely Ivan Prosvetov, a goaltender who was extremely successful in his last year in juniors.
Since being affiliated with the Coyotes the Rush would spend a season affiliated with the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, and a year without an affiliate.
