Coyotes sign McGinn, Dahlbeck as free agency opens

The Coyotes weren't among the teams that made a splash when the NHL free-agency period opened at 9 a.m. Arizona time Friday but they also didn't stay idle, signing winger Jamie McGinn to a three-year, $10 million contract.

They also retained defenseman Klas Dahlbeck with a one-year, one-way contract worth $750,000.

McGinn, 27, spent last season with the Sabres and Ducks, scoring 22 goals and finishing with 39 points -- career highs. Originally drafted in the second round (36th overall) in 2006 by the Sharks, McGinn has 450 games of NHL experience (91 goals and 167 points).
