Earlier this week we looked at Derick Brassard as a cheap unrestricted free agent signing for the Arizona Coyotes. It looks like the deal is official, with Craig Morgan reporting a one-year deal for $1.2 million.
Brassard was originally drafted sixth overall in 2006 by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Since being drafted he has played for the New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, and New York Islanders.
Last season Brassard played 66 regular-season games with the Islanders, netting 10 goals and 22 assists.
