The Coyotes hosted a brief ceremony Thursday in honor of forward Lawson Crouse, who was presented with the 2020-2021 Shane Doan Good Guy Award following practice at Gila River Arena.
The award, given by the Arizona chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association, honors a Coyotes player who over the past season showed respect for the media profession and was regularly accessible and quotable. Previous winners are forward Christian Fischer (2019-2020) and former Coyotes player Brad Richardson (2018-2019).
The COVID-19 pandemic postponed the awards presentations for Fischer, who got his award via video conference, and Crouse, who accepted the award in person with media members allowed to be near the team's locker room at Gila River Arena this season.
