The puck ricocheted around the inside of the net and then settled on the goal line as Coyotes goalie Louis Domingue waved his arms, motioning no-goal over and over and over.
He knew he had gotten a piece of Blackhawks center Tommy Wingels’ penalty-shot attempt before Wingels corralled the puck with a sweeping heave around Domingue, but the initial on-ice call signaled a goal.
Not until the play was reviewed did video confirm Domingue’s belief, trimming the Coyotes’ deficit back to 1 inside of doubling it.
And while that momentum swing helped the Coyotes pull even with the Blackhawks, it failed to spark their first win as they ended up falling 4-2 Saturday at Gila River Arena to remain winless at 0-7-1.
