The Arizona Coyotes clearly went into the draft thinking they needed to add defensemen prospects, and to continue that trend they drafted 6’ 2” Michael Callahan.
Callahan spent last season splitting time between the Central Illinois Flying Aces and the Youngstown Phantoms. He played in a total of 59 games between the two clubs and notching 3 goals and 15 assists. He is set to spend next season in the NCAA and is committed to Providence College.
This past year Callahan was named to the USHL All-Rookie Team along with defenseman Tyler Jubenvill, forwards Paul Cotter, Robert Mastrosimone, and Matej Pekar, and goaltender Oskar Autio.
