The supermoon came a little early.
Although it doesn’t make its full appearance until Sunday evening, you’d never know it wasn’t already out on Saturday night considering the way the Coyotes were howling with joy against the New Jersey Devils.
Playing their best game of the year, the Coyotes used goal-scoring touch, a gritty defensive effort and excellent goaltending to blank the Devils 5-0 and snap a three-game losing streak.
Jason Demers scored 34 seconds after the opening faceoff, rookie Dylan Strome netted his first NHL goal and Scott Wedgewood made 26 saves for his second career shutout to help beat the team that traded him a month ago.
