An ugly loss to the Ducks before a three-day break in the schedule offered up a ready-made practice plan for the Coyotes, and it doesn’t look like they ignored it.
Their competitiveness, or lack thereof, was addressed, and no doubt upping their urgency to battle is essential to not looking as out of place as they did Friday amid that 5-1 rout.
But it isn’t the only key to rectifying their lapses.
So is executing, especially when the Coyotes are on the defensive as pucks continue to crowd their crease.
“We need better goaltending,” coach Dave Tippett said.
