Conor Garland said he sometimes tends to get under the skin opposing players, which looked to be the case late in Thursday night's Arizona Coyotes' 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.
After an exchange of words, Ducks goalie John Gibson grabbed Garland across the face and tackled him. Garland had earlier scored the game's tying goal, and had been the target of some post-whistle contact in that game and the one before it against the Ducks.
Garland said he gets emotionally involved in games and looks to mix things up, and that rough play is part of the sport.
