Coyotes goalie Antti Raanta has been a spectator for the majority of the season, as injury has stalled his debut as a No.1 in the NHL.
But Raanta’s absence hasn’t dimmed goalie coach Jon Elkin’s optimism that when Raanta’s healthy, he can be the steady force in the crease the Coyotes acquired him over the summer to be.
“Just going over all his games from the last couple years and then his first game against Vegas, he was exceptional,” Elkin said. “He struggled the following game, but that happens sometimes to goaltenders, and I thought he bounced back pretty well the first period against Detroit prior to getting hurt.
