It was hard to see after an ugly, 4-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday at Gila River Arena, but the Coyotes know they have accomplished more than many thought they would, despite a tumultuous November.
Had they taken care of business and held onto a 2-0 lead against the Sharks, the Coyotes (15-9-4, 35 points) actually would have ended the month atop the Pacific Division standings.
Still, they enter December just one point behind the first-place Edmonton Oilers. Only two Western Conference teams have more points in the standings than the Coyotes, who reached 30 points in just 24 games this season, the fourth-fewest required to hit the mark in franchise history.
