The Arizona Coyotes selected center Logan Cooley of Pittsburgh with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft on Thursday.
Cooley, 5-foot-10, 180 pounds who shoots left, has been with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, and is scheduled to start his freshman year at the University of Minnesota in the fall.
He was the second-ranked North American skater by NHL Central Scouting entering the draft, right behind Shane Wright, who went No. 4 to Seattle.
