The Coyotes selected center Barrett Hayton with the No. 5 overall pick in the NHL draft on Friday.
Hayton, regarded as a true two-way center, totaled 60 points (21 goals, 39 assists) with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season.
Hayton was ranked as the 11th-best player in the draft and the No. 2 center.
