The Arizona Coyotes recalled 24-year-old defender Philip Samuelsson from the Springfield Falcons on Friday afternoon.
Samuelsson has just twelve games of NHL experience to his name across three NHL seasons split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Coyotes.
Philip Samuelsson is the older brother of forward Henrik Samuelsson, whom is also a member of the Arizona Coyotes organization playing with the Springfield Falcons.
The Yotes acquired the elder brother Philip Samuelsson in a trade with Pittsburgh that sent forward Rob Klinkhammer to the Penguins.
It’s fair to say that neither player involved in that 2014 trade had much of an impact on their new team, with Klinkhammer skating only 10 games for the Penguins before moving on to Edmonton.
