The Coyotes bounced out of their scoring funk with a 4-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday at Gila River Arena.
Coyotes winger Conor Garland scored twice on the night to help the offense, which had mustered just one goal in their first two games of the season, both losses.
Rookie Barrett Hayton also notched the first point of his career on Nick Schmaltz's first of the season. Playing in his first NHL game, Hayton made a tough one-armed pass to Christian Dvorak, who fed Schmaltz for the goal.
