Arizona Coyotes lose forward Tyler Pitlick in expansion draft to Seattle Kraken

The Arizona Coyotes lost forward Tyler Pitlick to the Seattle Kraken in Wednesday's NHL expansion draft, held live from the Pacific Northwest on ESPN2.

Pitlick, who signed a two-year, $3.5 million contract in free agency last offseason with the Coyotes, was the only Arizona player selected by the newest NHL franchise. Seattle chose 30 players, or a player from every team except the Vegas Golden Knights, the last team to hold an expansion draft in 2017.

Pitlick, 29, had six goals and five assists in 38 games last season. He missed the final 14 games of the season with a lower body injury.
