The Coyotes were due for one of these.
After several games in which they decidedly outplayed their opponents yet were not rewarded for it, the Coyotes picked up a win on a night when they did not play their sharpest hockey, defeating the Vancouver Canucks by a 4-1 score at Gila River Arena on Thursday.
The Coyotes were a little sluggish in the game’s first two periods but managed to break a 1-1 tie when winger Clayton Keller scored between the legs of Canucks goaltender Anders Nilsson. Center Alex Galchenyuk forced a turnover in the offensive zone and fed Keller, who used his instincts to put Arizona ahead for good.
